Returns & Refunds
Last updated: 17 October 2026
At There Is Always Hope, operated by Jordaan Trading, we take care to ensure that our books, journals and other products reach customers in good condition.
We aim to handle all return and refund requests fairly, promptly and in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
1. Damaged or Defective Products
If you receive a damaged, defective or incorrectly supplied product, please contact us at info@stephaniejordaan.com.
Please include your order number, a description of the problem and photographs where possible.
Under the Consumer Protection Act, customers have statutory rights concerning defective goods, including the right to return qualifying defective products within six months of delivery and request an appropriate remedy.
Where required by law, we will arrange the return at our expense and offer the customer the applicable choice of repair, replacement or refund.
2. Incorrect Orders
If you receive a product different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will assist with correcting the order and arrange collection or return delivery where applicable, at our expense.
3. Change-of-Mind Returns
Because books and journals are printed products, we do not ordinarily accept returns simply because a customer has changed their mind or no longer wishes to keep the product.
Customers are encouraged to review product descriptions before ordering.
This policy does not limit any cancellation or return rights available under applicable South African law.
4. Order Cancellations
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where an order has not yet been dispatched, we will generally be able to cancel it and arrange a refund.
Where an order has already been dispatched, cancellation and return arrangements will depend on the circumstances and applicable consumer rights.
5. Return Delivery Costs
Where a return is required because a product is defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied, we will cover the reasonable return costs as required by law.
For any discretionary return that we agree to accept, return delivery arrangements and costs will be confirmed with the customer in advance.
6. Refund Processing
Once a refund has been approved, it will be processed through the original payment method where reasonably possible, or another mutually agreed secure method.
Processing times may depend on the payment provider and financial institution.
Any refunds required by law will be processed within the applicable statutory timeframes.
7. Gifts and Bundles
Our RESET books and journals may be purchased individually, as bundles or as gifts.
If a product purchased as a gift is defective or incorrectly supplied, we will assist in accordance with applicable consumer protection law.
Refund arrangements will ordinarily be handled with the original purchaser.
Where a bundle is returned, the refund will be determined according to the items returned, the original purchase price and the customer's applicable legal rights.
8. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or other applicable South African legislation.
