Respect and trust

Two of the most important 'ingredients' of a happy marriage are honesty and respect. Do they exist in your marriage?

 During the early stages of your marriage, it is important to make enough time to work on your marriage. Make sure you understand your partner, what his or her needs are and that you are in unity about what is important to your marriage. When children come along and the routines, attention and time change, then your marriage is on a stable platform and you can tackle challenges with much more certainty. A healthy marriage provides so much security for children.

One day when you have been married for decades you can look back with gratitude at the time and attention you have given to your marriage. It remains a good investment - and if challenges such as health, job changes or other difficult situations and circumstances come your way, then a marriage built on respect and honesty can stand. Life is sometimes rough and the enemy knows that a happy marriage is the anchor of any family life. Make sure he does not get a chance to cause trouble.

Be vigilant and sort out your problems and differences. 

If you know that there are things in your marriage that need to be addressed, please pray the following prayer. 

Dear Jesus, give me the strength and wisdom to see what is not right. Show me what is polluting our honesty and respect for each other. Give us both a desire to address things that are not right. Thank you for the building blocks over the years that have brought our marriage to where it is. We ask You to draw a circle around our marriage and family and seal this circle with the Name Jesus. Holy Spirit come and fill our circle - Spirit of Wisdom and Spirit of Understanding come guide us to get our marriage healthy again. Thank You Lord that marriages and children are important to You. In Jesus' precious name - Amen
